Lockin Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 22, 2026
Lockin is a discipline and habit-tracking app built local-first. This page explains exactly what data Lockin uses and where it lives.
The short version
Lockin does not operate servers that store your personal data. Your daily check-ins, trackers, goals, and health information stay on your device and, if you enable iCloud, in your own private iCloud account. We cannot see it.
What Lockin uses, and where it lives
- Trackers, check-ins, goals, morning intentions: stored only on your device, and in your own private iCloud account if iCloud is enabled. Lockin has no account system and no central database — there is nothing on our side to store this in.
- Health data (sleep, heart rate, workouts via Apple HealthKit): read on-device only, used to display information back to you, and never transmitted anywhere — not to Lockin, not to any third party.
- Sparring Partner accountability sync: if you connect with a partner, a minimal, end-to-end encrypted packet syncs through Apple's CloudKit directly between your iCloud account and theirs. It contains only your current streak count, your morning-intention completion rate, and whether your streak is active — never your check-in details, free-text entries, or health data. Lockin's servers never see this packet; it never passes through infrastructure we operate.
- Subscription and purchase information: subscriptions are processed by Apple's App Store and our subscription management provider, RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives the purchase/transaction information necessary to verify your subscription. This is tied to an anonymous identifier, not your name — Lockin has no login or account system, so there is no Lockin identity to link it to.
What we don't do
- We don't run analytics SDKs that transmit your activity externally.
- We don't show ads or use advertising trackers.
- We don't sell or share your data with anyone, for any reason.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites.
Your control over your data
Deleting the app removes all data stored on your device. If you used iCloud sync, your data in your private iCloud account is governed by your own Apple ID and iCloud settings — you can remove it at any time from your device's iCloud storage settings.
Children's privacy
Lockin is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
